New Samsung Galaxy Pop GT-S5570 will release

"Samsung had announced new mid-range handsets running Google Android 2.2 Froyo to extend its Galaxy family. Out of those four handsets, Galaxy mini GT-S5570 is now listed as Galaxy Pop at Flipkart, a website that retails books, movies, music, games, cameras and mobiles. Packing a 600MHz processor, the new Galaxy Pop is a step higher version of the low-end current Galaxy 5 i5503 from Samsung. For India, the Galaxy Pop S5570 is available for pre-order at Rs. 8,999 and expected to be available in second week of this month.

New Samsung Galaxy Pop GT-S5570 is a better handset than the Galaxy 5 i5503 in terms of screen size, camera and comes with Android Froyo by default. Galaxy Pop has 3.14-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen supporting 240x320 pixel resolution. Running Android 2.2 Froyo, Pop sports 3.15 megapixel camera to offer better imaging than the Galaxy 5 that has 2 megapixel camera. Processor speeds inside Galaxy Pop and Galaxy 5 is the same. However, GT-S5570 sports 384MB RAM compared to 256MB RAM bearing GT-i5503. Don't get excited for the 128MB extra RAM has been added for the Froyo richness.

Physically, the Pop has fewer buttons compared to the Galaxy 5 handset. Yes, the phone does offer Stereo FM Radio, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and A-GPS modules. Samsung seems to have goofed up in terms of pricing or has slaughter its own product. Galaxy Pop has been listed for Rs. 8,999 while the same site lists Galaxy 5 for Rs. 8.989.
